A Systems Analysis

Finding an Optimal Mode of Transportation

In Introduction to Systems Engineering (Fall 2015) I learned how to run a multi attribute decision analysis on sets of data. We began with raw numbers and criteria. From there we used a formula that accounted for  marginal rates of substitution and ranges in attributes to determine relative weights and scores for different criteria. Finally, we compiled the information into a neat presentation that would be easy for a customer to understand. This project helped me learn how to manipulate numbers and account for multiple factors in making a decision. This is a skill that could be applied to multiple scenarios. Additionally from this project I became comfortable using Microsoft Excel and its many functions.
