My first semester of college (Fall 2014) I took a class that focused on technology in society. In this class we learned the importance of society accepting technology that you have created, for if no one will implement your technology it might as well not exist. In this class we also learned how to write a preliminary patent application, so that should we create something of value we would be able to articulate what was unique and valuable about it.
